Biography Mateusz Świetlicki

Dr. Mateusz Świetlicki is a highly accomplished academic and Director of the Center for Young People’s Literature and Culture at the University of Wrocław. He is also an Assistant Professor at the Institute of English Studies’s Department of American Literature and Culture. Dr. Świetlicki is a co-founding member of the Centre for Research on Children’s and Young Adult Literature and has received numerous prestigious fellowships, including ones at the University of Florida’s Department of English and the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research interests include North American and Ukrainian children’s and young adult literature, memory, gender, and queer studies, as well as popular culture and film. Dr. Świetlicki has published his work in esteemed journals and is actively involved in professional networks focusing on childhood and youth studies. In addition, he is the deputy-editor-in-chief of Filoteknos and has recently published a book titled Next-Generation Memory and Ukrainian Canadian Children’s Historical Fiction: The Seeds of Memory.
